Cowboy Boots

These tricked out cowboy boots are brought to you by Room 6. Who doesn't love glitter on their spurs?

Kisses

Room 9 made these a while back, just getting around to posting them now. the children used a 50/50 mix of white glue and water to paint zip lock bags which they then covered with tissue paper squares. The whole thing was then painted in a final coat of the glue/water mixture and left to dry overnight. When fully dry you can peel them off to reveal the beautiful glossy sheen. The great thing is you can cut them to any shape and if you hang them in a window the sun shines right through.

Good Luck

We borrowed this idea from Room 7 yesterday afternoon. First we sticky tacked a horse shoe stencil to a piece of construction paper and traced it with brown marker. Next the children decorated with orange, gray, brown and white crayons following with a coat of brown watercolor paint. When they were nice and dry we cut around the outline. I'm not sure the finished product looks exactly like a horse shoe but the results are very artistic.

Happy as a Pig in Mud

Dirty pigs. We put the circular section into a salad spinner with a spoon full of "mud" (50/50 brown tempera paint and water). Give it a spin, some ears, eyes and a nose and there you go.

I have a dream...

Spring is just around the corner...

Treats from Room 8.

1. Cupcakes- If you haven't tried frosting a cupcake with a mixture of half shaving cream, half white glue you should! The only problem is keeping the curious fingers away long enough for it to dry.

2. Roses- An original take on an old favorite using twisted tissue paper, complete with thorns.

3. Horses- A talking rodeo horse no less.

4. Bees- I should have got a shot of the bee landing on the flower.

A Bunch of Sweethearts

Room 10's bulletin board featuring a big, beautiful bunch of balloons. They also made these great hearts and flowers. I chose the glitteriest of them all, stunning.

Bee Mine

Valentine's from Room 7. Cupcakes, kisses, bees and Pretty patchwork hearts in Paisley, plaid and polka dots.

Year of the Tiger

February 14 was Chinese New Year. Happy Year of the Tiger!

Valentine's Round Up

The creative gals and and hard-working children of Room 12 whipped these goodies up in time for Valentine's Day. I would love to know how they made those adorable bugs, I'm guessing papier mache. I squeezed in the ice skates at the end because they were too cute to leave out.

Made With Heart

These heart critters are from Room 11. Using two drinking straws joined for the body of the butterfly is a great idea. Depending on who you ask the fellow on the right is either a mouse, a kangaroo or a monkey, use your imagination!

Valentine in the Post

The Valentines Room 9 made went home in these jumbo envelopes. The colors really brightened up a gray day.
